Smuggies are opinionated, strawman arguments, or "I like this, the other bad" type of argument. They're in nature the complete opposite of snafus but that doesn't mean that they are inherently wrong or don't have a right to exist, after all r/smugideologyman exists to house these type of posts.

They are usually political, and are done by both sides of any political spectrum
